About Critec Consult

Critec Consult personnel have almost 20 years experience in security design and project management, and have been involved on some of the largest and most high profile security projects in the UK, Europe and the Middle East, including military bases, VIP residences, IT hangers, research facilities, utility plants and embassies.

Critec Consult Limited offer a personal independent security consultancy service and enjoy an exclusive client list. Our personnel have over 18 years experience designing and implementing large scale integrated systems, involving intruder detection for buildings and perimeters, analogue and digital CCTV, access control, physical hardening and building management. We offer expert advice, design and technical services for end user clients, architects and installers of systems for large single or networked sites with central and/or remote management facilities.

Our personnel have designed and managed the installation of some of the largest and most high profile security systems in the world, including military bases, VIP residences, IT hangers, research facilities, utility plants and embassies.

Critec Consult Limited was established by Lead Consultant and Principal, Mark Hobday. Mark is a Chartered Engineer holding a Bachelor Of Engineering degree in Electronics Engineering, is registered with the Engineering Council, a Member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers (MIEE), the CCTV User Group and a full member of the Association of Security Consultants (ASC).

To ensure a personal service at all times, most commissions are undertaken by lead consultant Mark Hobday. Where a larger project necessitates a team approach, fellow members of the Association of Security Consultants are utilised to create a team with unparalleled experience and expertise. This is at odds with the methods used by some of the larger consultancy organisations where only the most senior team member may have the required skills.

Mark has over 20 years technical experience in the security industry, and before becoming independent, designed and managed the installation of some of the most prestigious security installations on behalf of the UK's leading specialist systems integrator Initial Systems. He has provided security solutions to some of the largest companies and highest profile individuals in the world, acting as lead consultant to Initial's most prestigious clients. With the inception of Critec Consult we continue the tradition of providing independent professional advice in this highly specialised field, to clients who demand a more exclusive, personal service. In addition to advising end users, we collaborate with architectural and construction design companies to ensure that security requirements are incorporated into any building blueprint as part of the construction project specification. This not only includes the electronic aspects of security provision but also to advise on the actual design and functionality of the building from a security viewpoint.
