Critec Consult independent security consultants have undertaken numerous successful projects in many diverse business areas. Our commissions cover varied security matters from purely technical assessments to procedural or financial analysis. Whatever the client need we pride ourselves on advising solutions to meet the particular commission requirements - on time and to budget.

Although client confidentiality prevents us discussing these projects in details, case studies of some previous projects can be found below: 

  • Nuclear power stations – UK. Project management for integrated security management systems upgrade projects at a number of Nuclear power stations.

  • Customs bonded warehouse – UK. Risk analysis and upgrade recommendations report for bonded warehouse to enable insurance provision for high value goods.

  • VIP residences – UK. Full design and management consultancy for intruder detection and physical protection measures to corporate VIP residences.

  • Metropolitan transport scheme – UK. Technical management of commissioning teams and project management for networked digital CCTV and data-comms system comprising over 400 cameras and 6 control rooms covering 58 stations. Using leading edge 2.5Gb transmission this was only the 2nd deployment of this technology in the world at the time.

  • Borough council – UK. Commercial feasibility study to investigate options for outsourcing of municipal CCTV monitoring services to third parties. Full financial and technical evaluation including generation of pre-tender qualification documentation. 

  • Military - UK: Project engineering and application system design for large perimeter detection and CCTV management system employing over 200 cameras and 7km of detection fence.

  • US Pharmaceutical Corporation – UK research headquarters. Design of integrated CCTV/intruder/Access control system to replace existing system, whilst maximizing use of retained field equipment and cabling. Relocation of control systems with minimal downtime and contingency provision. Full consultancy for replacement of central control and for extension of system for new building construction involving specification production and client engineering representation. The system represents the largest single site integrated security system in the UK, comprising over 100 cameras, 500 access readers, 8000 card users and 5000 intruder detectors.

  • UK embassy for Middle Eastern government. Project design and engineering for integrated security system employing covert and overt cameras, intruder detection and proximity access control.

  • Europe – Various establishments for VIP. Design and project management of integrated systems for various VIP residential and commercial establishments in Europe, involving the provision of CCTV, intruder detection and access control provision on multiple sites linked via telecommunications paths and digital wire free networks to a central monitoring facility. Highly specialised solutions were developed to fit in with architectural restrictions in listed properties.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

  • Europe – Telecomm hanger network. Full design and project management for digital CCTV, Intruder detection and access control system employing biometric access control and digital CCTV recording networked between sites across Europe, to permit all cameras to be viewed on any sites using client internet backbone.

  • Atomic weapons research establishment - UK: Project management and application system design for site comprising three interlinked perimeter CCTV and intruder detection systems. 

  • US Pharmaceutical Corporation – European headquarters:  Digital Video recorder upgrade evaluation and budget development  

  • Military  museum – UK. Full specification and budget development for digital CCTV command and control centre for Military armaments museum.

  • Confectionary Manufacturing plant - UK. Full design consultancy for integrated security system, including project budget development, specification production and client engineering representation. 

  • Optical Manufacturing plant - UK. Risk and threat assessment including development of procedure, security system and monitoring option budgets. 

  • Water purification plants – UK. Production of Procedures and Response Manuals for integrated CCTV, intruder detection and access control systems.  

  • US Pharmaceutical Corporation – European headquarters: Full design consultancy including risk and threat assessment, production of contract specification and contractor management for integrated CCTV, Intruder, Perimeter, Access system, including specification of bespoke software link to client corporate HR database, design of all containment, cable and system facilities to stringent architectural restrictions.

  • Water pumping station – UK. Full design consultancy for physical and electronic counter - terrorist protection to drinking water facility. 

  • UK Utilities – Detail design and project management of multiple estate CCTV / intruder detection system protecting water supply and treatment facilities providing drinking water to large metropolitan conurbation. Large project spread over 4 years involving in excess of 200 cameras on over 30 sites, standalone and linked via dedicated fibre-optic cables and telecommunication media to a number of parallel control systems, providing fallback monitoring in the event of single point failures, and central station design. 

  • Pipebridge – UK. Detail design and project management of CCTV and perimeter detection system utilising day/night cameras, covert black-lighting, and electric fencing to protect water supply bridge to major city.

  • MoD – UK. Details design and cost analysis for dual redundant integrated security system.

  • Public school – UK. Full design and specification production including budget development for digital CCTV system.
